ABOUT CAMILLE

With 25 years of experience working in theatre, film, television and commercials, Camille has enjoyed the process of supporting directors, producers and actors in realizing their creative vision through costume design. Having worked with actors across the globe like Elizabeth McGovern, Felicity Jones, Aiden Gillen, Julie Delpy, Eve Hewson, Ben Whishaw, JK Simmons and Jason Momoa, Camille’s research-led design approach started with a love of art history and languages, evolving into a passion for character and script interpretation once she discovered costume design for theater. Her recent projects include costume design for “Bad Sisters”, a 10-part Apple TV+ series starring Sharon Horgan and Daryl McCormack and “Bernhard/Hamlet” at the Geffen Theater directed by Sarna Lapine (postposted during pandemic). Upcoming films include “The Last Manhunt” (Nov 2022) set in 1907 frontier California, starring Christian Camargo, Lily Gladstone and Raoul Trujillo.

Camille is the Head of Costume Design in the School of Theatre at California Institute of The Arts. She has a Masters of Fine Art in Theatre Design from Yale School of Drama, and a Masters of Art from the Courtauld Institute in the History of Dress. Her first print book, “Dressing The Resistance”, published by Princeton Architectural Press earlier this year, celebrates the role of clothing, costume and nudity in activism and protest. While working in the film industry across the US and Europe, Camille enjoys presenting talks on dress history and costume design at numerous institutions including the Victoria & Albert Museum, The Costume Society, Stanford University, UC Berkeley, and SDSU and Arts Center College of Design.
